Set in the picturesque Somerset village of Wrington (the birth place of the philosopher John Locke), The Plough Inn is an easy drive South out of Bristol, only 15 minutes from Junction 21 of the M5, and just 5 minutes South of Bristol Airport. It's the perfect place to meet, to explore the villages and towns. Bath is only half an hour away and the rolling pastures of Somerset, the Mendips are on the doorstep, and Cheddar Gorge is also only ten minutes away.
The Plough has been brought up to date with a beautiful refurbishment. It has a gorgeous wooden bar and two distinct dining areas, including a stunning garden restaurant at the rear. It combines old world style and charm with modern design and aesthetics. Roaring Fires in the winter complete the classic country pub feel. We have extensive front and back gardens, a Boules Pitch and a very popular summer boules league. There is a very large car park to the rear.
Award winning Ales and Wine
We serve 3 award winning ales, Young's ale, Butcombe Bitter, Tribute and the occasional guest ale, and a selection of lagers. Our wine list is extensive, offering a selection of 14 wines by the glass. Our cocktail and mocktails are definitely worth a try if you're feeling "Cosmopolitan" If you want a great coffee, look no further than our 100% Arabica coffee beans supplied by the Clifton coffee company.
We are extremely proud of our delicious bistro style cuisine served with a modern twist, which is cooked fresh every day by our dedicated team of top chefs lead by Head Chef Aaron Tolmie, using only the best local free range ingredients. The menu includes bistro classics, local game in season, fresh fish, superb steaks, homemade desserts and local cheeses. We promise a very warm welcome, where you can eat, drink, talk and above all enjoy..

Good afternoon everyone! There’s been an awful lot of noise (rightly so) about free school meals and extending it for the holidays. It’s something that is close to my heart as I have 2 children. So, for anyone under 16 from our local area that would normally have a free school meal will be entitled to a free meal throughout the half term period here at The Plough. No catch, no adult needs to buy a meal or a drink. Just a free meal for those that need it. I hope you’re all having a great start to your weekend. Cheers, Aaron
